It isn’t every day you get tagged in a greenhouse wedding shoot on Instagram! Naturally, we had to get in touch with Wedding Planner Dheyna at Smitten Weddings to find out more.
“I deliver elegant, naturally-inspired weddings that are uniquely you. Through a supportive and collaborative experience, my couples get the dreamy wedding without the stress. I am based in the Cotswolds, working across the South West and happy to travel across the UK.” She explained.
“The shoot came about when Christine, from The Cotswold Frock Shop, noticed a unique pop-up restaurant in the local area with gorgeous greenhouses set upon a hill; The Scenic Supper. She was inspired to make the most of the backdrop and the beautiful Autumn colours before the pop-up moved on to its next location. When I saw Christine’s idea for an autumnal shoot at the stunning Scenic Supper venue, I jumped at the chance to style the unique greenhouses. I went for a cosy, snug, rustic look and made the most of the beautiful warm colour scheme. My aim was to showcase a romantic image of Autumn.”
“In this photoshoot we showcase two contrasting bridal looks through the eyes of two different photographers. The shoot shows that you can use any venue with any theme, and make it work for your personal style with the right suppliers. Our gorgeous models represent the contrasting bridal styles: classical elegance and alternative looks. Our two photographers show how different editing styles can completely change the tone of your images: darker artistic moods or light, bright and airy romance.”
Dheyna explained that several dresses were used in the shoot, picked out by Christine:
Morilee Roxie – We gave Bethan a soft Bohemian chiffon skirt with embroidered lace bodice; we didn’t want a dress that would overwhelm her. The trend for outdoor and Boho weddings will be with us for a while, so we gave Bethan a relaxed, romantic dress paired with black heels and a bespoke leather jacket to add some drama!
Morilee Martella – Christine chose the classic strapless lace wedding dress for Bethan, as it brought out her natural beauty and flawless complexion, highlighting her gorgeous figure.
Morilee Lindsey – (My absolute favourite!) This stunningly embroidered dress took centre-stage, transforming Bethan into a modern-day princess. The ivory/crème colouring was perfect for the boho-style of this shoot and worked so well with Bethan’s skin tone.
“I love that the shoot included a dog as so many brides want their pets at their wedding. Walter is a five-year-old pure-breed Labrador, owned by Alicia (Red Maple Photography). He is full of life and a gentle spirit. His sole purpose in life is to bring happiness to all those around him and to eat as many carrots as he can. I strongly believe that weddings are improved by including your four-legged friends as they’re such a huge part of your daily life! As this shoot was outdoors it seemed right to include Walter, the golden beauty that he is, in the photoshoot to add personality and joy. Plus, he suited the colour scheme beautifully!” We couldn’t agree more!
When asked about how she has been kept busy in lockdown Dheyna told us: “As for the rest of the year, like many of my friends in the wedding industry, I’m working on pivoting my business while the weddings that we’re used to cannot go ahead, and supporting my couples through this difficult time. There’s still an awful lot of uncertainty and lack of support for our industry and for engaged couples. The past few months I have been focussed on photoshoots and providing useful content for couples.”
