Tell us how you met your husband… “My husband Chris and I met properly on a night out in our hometown of Barrow in Furness. We had always known of each other but finally got to meet properly back in March 2012. We got married at Abbey House in Barrow in Furness. It is an amazing venue with all its old features and character, and we visited a wedding fair there so knew how everything was going to look. As for the wedding planning I mostly used social media to get wedding ideas, but I always had a vision of how I wanted our big day to be.”
Can you tell us about your dress and wedding dress shopping experience? “I had an idea of what style I wanted; something long sleeved with lace but when trying on my dress Morilee’s gown which is style number 5462 it completely changed my mind! The moment I tried my dress on I really knew it was the one! It is a tulle gown with embroidery dripping down onto the skirt with pearl and crystal beaded. The neckline is sweetheart with an illusion halter neck and embellished cross-over straps to the back – it is a glamourous mermaid style gown and made me feel a million dollars! I purchased the gown from Fellside Brides in Kendal. They gave amazing customer service and were fantastic throughout! I would highly recommend them.”
Did you have a theme for your wedding? “My bridesmaids were in sparkly champagne and rose gold, so we used this colour theme throughout the wedding. As it was December, and also my husband’s birthday, we went with a winter wedding theme. It was hard to budget to be honest because it is your special day and we knew we would only do it once. But we did manage to keep a modest lid on it. We had a snow machine to make it feel like Christmas!”
Was there a best bit to your special day? “The whole day was amazing, and it was topped off with Six15 Events who we hired for our evening – act. They were out of this world! The funniest part of the day was my dad’s speech – he had the whole room in fits of laughter.”
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tyne, we wish you and Chris a lifetime of happiness! Thanks for choosing Morilee.
