Adele & Robert

We absolutely love hearing from our real brides and seeing how they have personalised their Morilee gown. Adele got in touch via Instagram to tell us all about her special day and gorgeous gown. Here Adele tells us all about it.

“My husband Robert is keen golfer and financial adviser. We met 10 years ago both working for a bank in the same branch. We are both keen skiers, and Rob had planned to propose on our next ski holiday. He ordered a ring to be made and when the ring was delivered, he was so stunned by its beauty he couldn’t actually wait! He sped off down the drive to my parents to show them and ask permission to marry me. He returned and proposed there and then at home.

Our wedding took place at Peak Edge on the edge of the Peak District in Chesterfield. As a child I always wanted a Christmas wedding and when we came upon this stunning Peak District Boutique Hotel. We completely fell in love with it. The venue boasts great food, roaring open fires and gorgeous views of the Peak District. It was perfect for a Christmas wedding. The important aspects for us were somewhere to party, eat, drink and dance. We planned our wedding around our love for these things with a Christmas twist. Being a perfectionist and a visual person, I considered every detail possible and loved every second of planning. My day started with a rose petal bath and ended with me and my husband dancing the night away – even attempting the signature lift from the movie Dirty Dancing. Our day consisted of a harpist as I walked down the custom-made personalised aisle, my niece Mia reading a poem during the ceremony, our favourite Champagne, wine for our guests and endless amounts of laughter and Christmas spirit. My favours were a personalised glass bauble for each person and a Lindt reindeer. Our day theme was rustic Christmas decor and the evening a twinkle party setting. It had everything from a personalised lit dance floor to floating jellyfish balloons.

I purchased my dress from Mothers and Brides in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The dress was then taken to a wonderful and talented lady called Pam at Sew Wedding in Sutton in Ashfield where I had the dress accessorised. I had the buttons changed up the back to match the straps, added a fur shrug and broach as well as a veil made layered like the dress with crystals around the bottom. I had a random day off and decided to go dress shopping on my own. I was so lucky to find the perfect dress and the best bit it would be a surprise for everyone on the day! I kept my dress a surprise the whole way through. Everyone was stunned on the day.

I picked my dress because it was effortless and had stunning crystal straps and soft layered detail with a sizeable train. The dress made me feel sexy in an acceptable manner for my big day. The dress fit all my curves in the right way and added va va voom in all the best places. I loved that no one had ever seen a dress like this before and gasped as I walked down the aisle.”

Adele’s stunning gown is style 6833. If you love this dress you may also like Karina, style 5604 or Maisie style 8111.
