Lockdown Love Stories: Nia & Harri

After our call out on Instagram to spread some cheer and find some lockdown engagement stories, Nia Davies from Swansea got in touch to fill us in on her very own lockdown love story…

“I was dreading my 30th Birthday in Lockdown as due to Covid-19. I had already had to cancel my girls trip to Benidorm and our family trip to Disneyland Paris. Never did I think Harri would have popped the questions and make me the happiest girl alive!

Our little boy Rori came in to our bedroom early on my birthday singing Happy Birthday. Rori and Harri went to make me breakfast and then brought up all my gifts. Harri was very apologetic as he felt bad that he was unable to get nice presents as deliveries weren’t on time. I was so grateful to be sitting in bed with my two boys, drinking my cup of tea when Harri said that he had one more present for me.

I was due to be celebrating at my birthday party the following weekend and we had arranged for Bronwen Lewis to sing. It was such a shame that we wouldn’t be able to hold the party so Harri asked her to record a video singing my favourite song. I was overwhelmed with the kindness. After singing along with Bronwen, she ended the video by saying Harri had a very special question to ask me. I was gobsmacked. He asked me to marry him and gave me the most beautiful yellow diamond. Harri and I were both sobbing and poor Rori didn’t understand what was going on.

We are both so excited to be able to celebrate with our families when it’s safe to do so and to get going with the wedding planning. My Pinterest page is bursting with ideas!

We’re hoping for an Easter 2022 wedding and fingers crossed that we’ll be able to look soon. First place we are going to visit is Llanerch Vinyard. We love it there, and who know’s maybe Benidorm will have to be postponed until my hen do!”

All the best for your wedding planning and future together Nia & Harri. Please get in touch with us so we can share your photos with our readers.
